Residents of Ramgondanahalli face harassment from tanker mafia

No Cauvery water supply and insufficient water supply from CMC

With borewells drying up, the plight of the community has intensified

Residents of Ramgondanahalli face harassment from the tanker mafia due to the absence of Cauvery water and insufficient water supply from the City Municipal Corporation.

Even the borewell water, which used to be a reliable source, has become subject to exploitation by the tanker mafia. Frustrated by the shortage of water, residents, who used to receive water only once a week, now find themselves at the mercy of these unscrupulous operators.

The tanker mafia operates discreetly, profiting from the sale of water extracted from borewells, while residents are left grappling with the consequences.

The reliance on tanker water from the town exacerbates the situation for residents as they endure the effects of water being transported through tankers.

With other borewells drying up, the plight of the community has intensified over the past five years. Despite numerous appeals to the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike), the issue remains unresolved.

As the summer approaches, any semblance of water becomes a precious commodity, and residents are forced to pay exorbitant prices for tanker water, doubling their financial burden.

The plea from the residents is simple: They demand regular supply of Cauvery water or devise an alternative solution to alleviate their suffering.
