Bengaluru: Traffic police to use QR Codes to collect pending fines

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have had a problem with the procurement of fines for traffic violations for a long time. They had recently started an initiative for seizing vehicles that had fines extending well into 5 digit numbers. 

They are now attempting to digitalise this process as well. Anucheth, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Bengaluru city has provided an update in this regard. “The Bengaluru Traffic Police has come forward with a new initiative. This pertaining to the 133 notice. Until now, notices would be sent to the address of those violating traffic rules through the address procured from the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Going forward, the Notice will also consist of a QR Code. Anyone scanning the code will be provided details of what violation they are being charged with, the place wherein the violation took place and the date and time of the same. Photographic evidence of the violation will also be provided. This will make the process more convenient. The payment link will also be provided upon scanning the QR code.This can be used to pay the fine. btb.gov.in and the KSP aap are other means of paying the fine.
