In a latest development, a trial court in Bengaluru has granted conditional bail to three individuals accused of shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. The accused were allegedly celebrating the victory of Congress candidate Syed Naseer Hussain in the Rajya Sabha elections when the incident occurred.

The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) V Vijith permitted the bail application filed by the accused individuals, namely Mohammad Iltaz of Kishanganj, Mohammad Shafi Nashipudi, and DS Munawar Ahmed.

As part of the conditions for their release on bail, the trial court has mandated each accused to furnish a bond of ₹1 lakh along with two sureties.

Furthermore, the accused have been restricted from leaving the country and are obligated to attend all court proceedings regularly. Additionally, they have been strictly advised against indulging in any further criminal activities.

The judge, taking into consideration these conditions and the presented facts, granted bail to the accused individuals, stating that there exists a prima facie case in favour of the accused.

This decision comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings regarding the alleged incident, which has garnered significant attention and sparked debates on the boundaries of freedom of expression and national sentiments.
