The fire that broke out in the Mudpipe Cafe located in the rooftop of the three-storied KDP Building in the Kira Layout on Hosur Road in Bengaluru on 18th October has now been given an unfortunate distortion by certain trolls who have linked the incident to the clash between Australia and Pakistan in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) One-Day International (ODI) Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2023. “The incident unfolded in the city where Pakistan is slated to play its upcoming World Cup match against Australia. According to Google Maps, Chinnaswamy Stadium, the designated venue for the match, is approximately an hour’s drive from the cafe where the fire incident was reported. Pakistan is set to face Australia in its fourth World Cup encounter at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium,” Dawn, a Pakistani English newspaper, had stated in relation to this incident.

The police have stated that the blast took place due to a leak in the LPG gas from a cylinder in the cafe when only the cook was present in the premises but this information is intentionally being left out by the trolls. “Blast in Bangalore. And they say India is safe. Pakistan must raise security concerns for the cricket team which is currently in this city and have their match against Australia on Friday(SIC),” Wajahat Kazmi, a TV Show host on Star News TV had posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
