A Turkish woman, Bioinyaz Swamy Gowda, and eight others were apprehended by the Bengaluru police in a covert operation for orchestrating a prostitution ring using Telegram and other mobile applications.

Bioinyaz, who arrived in India 15 years ago, became involved in the illicit trade after her husband’s demise a decade ago.

The arrested individuals, including Bioinyaz, were identified as residents of different areas in Bengaluru. The operation was initiated by the Ulsoor police following a tip-off about a Telegram channel named “Bengaluru Dating Club,” where the group promoted their services by posting photos of women to attract customers.

The arrest occurred when an undercover informant negotiated a deal with the gang at the Leela Park hotel in Domlur.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda revealed that the racket involved seven women, including five foreigners, and Bioinyaz had been part of it for at least eight to 10 years.

The investigation unveiled the involvement of women from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, and other countries.

Bioinyaz, residing in Cooke town with her daughter, had managed to evade police attention until now, but she is suspected to have operated across various major cities in India, utilizing a network of agents.
