Mobile number verification will be done through missed calls

In case individuals appear underage, their Aadhaar details will be sought

To enhance safety measures during the upcoming New Year’s Eve festivities, the Bengaluru city police have implemented a strategy requiring the collection of mobile numbers and Aadhaar details from patrons entering bars, pubs, and restaurants.

In a collaborative effort, police officers at the station level are working closely with these establishments, offering guidelines to prioritize customer safety.

This New Year’s Eve, establishments hosting revelry events will gather mobile numbers from entering patrons, and in cases where individuals appear to be underaged, their Aadhaar numbers will also be requested.

To counter the use of fake contact information, verification will be conducted through missed calls, aligning with the city police’s comprehensive plan to prevent any undesirable incidents during the celebrations.

Senior police officials have recently convened meetings with station-level counterparts in various sub-divisions, instructing inspectors to engage in coordination meetings with representatives from pubs, bars, and restaurants within their respective jurisdictions.

To further fortify security, the police will strictly enforce a prohibition on carrying arms into pubs and bars during the festivities.

Establishments will receive guidelines on safety protocols, including the installation of high-quality CCTV cameras for easy customer identification.

Additionally, the police will recommend the deployment of bouncers or establishment-specific security personnel to maintain a secure environment.
