Bengaluru Urban District Collector Dayanand K A has provided an update on the election preparations in Bengaluru Lok Sabha constituencies today.

Dayanand outlined the voting procedures for different groups. Those possessing Election Duty Certificates (EDC) will cast their votes at the polling stations, while others will utilize postal voting. Notably, there are 419 polling stations coordinated through this mustering center.

Dayanand assured that sector officials would promptly address any issues that may arise during the voting process. Additionally, he highlighted the significant use of webcasting, covering 75% of the Bengaluru North Constituency. Critical areas, marked based on previous instances of violence, receive heightened attention for security.

All necessary training has been completed, and voting machines have been distributed from mustering centers. Postal voting has been permitted for staff members, with arrangements in place for those who are unable to vote at the center.

Regarding EDC distribution, Dayanand emphasized that it would be conducted for staff members, with the option to distribute it at their respective duty stations tomorrow. Preparations in all polling booths have been finalized, with particular attention to critical areas and slums where surveillance is heightened.

Security measures are robust, with police leadership overseeing all security operations to prevent any untoward incidents. Alongside webcasting, micro observers are deployed to ensure transparency throughout the process.
