A woman in Bengaluru was arrested by Bengaluru police

She allegedly murdered her 30-year-old husband

Accused identified as Nandini Bai disguised murder as heart attack

A woman in Bengaluru was arrested by Bengaluru police on Saturday for the alleged murder of her 30-year-old husband, Venkata Nayak, with the assistance of her lover, Nitish Kumar.

The incident, reported from HSR Layout police station, involved the accused, identified as Nandini Bai, attempting to disguise the crime as a heart attack.

Nandini had invited Nitish to her home on January 9 while Venkata was away. Upon his unexpected return, he discovered the illicit affair, leading to a confrontation between Nandini and Venkata. Amidst the argument, Nandini and Nitish fatally struck Venkata with a stone. They then moved his body near the toilet and placed the stone nearby.

In an attempt to mislead investigators, Nandini reported to the police that her husband had collapsed near the toilet and died after hitting his head on a sharp-edged stone. Initially treated as an unnatural death, the post-mortem report ultimately exposed the incident as a murder, and preliminary investigations affirmed its non-natural nature.

Following her detention, Nandini confessed to the crime during police interrogation. Further inquiry revealed that Nandini and Nitish had been childhood friends from the Sathya Sai region in Andhra Pradesh. Their relationship developed into an affair, with Nitish frequently visiting Nandini whenever her husband was away.
