Commuters using the Nice Road have received a shocking update. The rise in toll charges has also had an impact on the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus users. 

Price rise has affected citizens residing in Karnataka in multiple ways. Vegetables, petrol and bus tickets have become costlier. Starting from July 1st, the toll charges along the Nice Road also increased. This has increased the trouble for commuters. As the toll charges have increased, the bus ticket rates for routes along the Nice Road face the possibility of being increased.

In the 9 kilometre stretch from the Hosur Road to the Banerghatta Road, the toll charges have increased in the range of Rs 50 to Rs 60. The toll charges for the stretch from the Bannerghatta Road up to the Kanakapura Road have increased in the range of Rs 45 to Rs 50. In the BMTC buses along the BIES-Electronic City route, the bus ticket price of Rs 65 has a breakdown along the lines of Rs 40 for the ticket and Rs 25 for the toll charges. Due to the increase in toll charges, there is a possibility of the ticket rate extending up to Rs 75. The transport corporation is reported to have requested for the increase in toll charges to not be applicable for BMTC buses.
