Bengaluru: Winner of TCS World 10k can take home $26,000

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has facilitated in smooth conduction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Bengaluru and the recently concluded 2nd phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. This was done by altering the schedule of the trains. 

The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) World 10K run is scheduled to commence at the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Grounds in Shivaji Nagar on 28th April. 

The BMRCL trains are usually scheduled to commence at 7:00 AM. In light of the event, the trains commenced at 3:35 AM. The Chief Public Relations Officer of the BMRCL made an announcement to this effect through a media release. “To facilitate public to participate in TCS World 10K Bengaluru scheduled to start from Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground on 28.04.2024 (Sunday), BMRCL will be commencing its train service from 03:35 am instead of 07:00 am from all its four terminals Nagasandra, Silk Institute, Challaghatta and Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro stations. Trains will run at a frequency of 10 minutes from 03.35 am to 04.25 am .The first train service from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station Majestic towards M G Road will be at 04.10 am and thereafter will run at 10 minutes interval up to 5.00 am and subsequently trains will run depending on the patronage. Public are requested to make use of the above facility to participate in World’s Premier 10K Run. BMRCL encourages the public to buy QR tickets and make cashless payments,” the release mentioned.

The winner of the event is guaranteed of a cash prize of $26,000. This amount is common for both, the winners in the men’s and women’s category. The world’s second fastest women runner in the 10k category, Emmaculate Anyango Achol from Kenya participated in the event.
