In a tragic turn of events, a police constable Venkanna attached to Begur police station in Bengaluru accidently pressed the trigger of the pistol he was examining. As a result, writer Anbudas was hit badly by the bullet. It pierced through his left leg leaving him completely debilitated.

The police constable was scrutinising the weapons as part of preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. Another person by name Mukundreddy had placed these pistols in the police station.

Anbudas has been rushed to the nearby Apollo Hospital for treatment.
