Dhanteras and Diwali shopping just got a hilarious twist on social media. Kamalesh Murthy, a Bengaluru resident, posted a video on Instagram humorously claiming he purchased 1.5 kg of gold for the festive season.

In the video, titled “1.5 Kg Gold Purchase,” Murthy excitedly says, “Hi guys, we just went shopping for Dhanteras and Diwali and brought home 1.5 kg of gold.” Social media viewers were initially shocked at the announcement. However, as the video unfolds, it is revealed that the “gold” is not real.

Murthy clarifies that he bought Britannia Gold biscuits (500g), Tata Tea Gold powder (500g), and Fortune Sunflower Oil (500g) from different stores, joking that these are all “good for health.” The video cleverly pokes fun at soaring gold prices, while keeping the Diwali spirit lighthearted.
