Extra buses from Bengaluru, easy online booking, and special return services arranged to ensure smooth travel for Maha Shivaratri passengers.

In a major relief for passengers travelling home for Maha Shivaratri, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), along with BMTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC, has announced a large-scale special bus arrangement to manage the festive travel rush from Bengaluru.

As part of the joint initiative, a total of 2,155 additional buses will operate to help passengers reach their hometowns comfortably. The move aims to reduce congestion, ensure safe travel, and provide better connectivity during the high-demand festival period.

To streamline operations, 1,180 extra buses will be deployed today, while 80 additional services will operate on Sunday. These buses will connect Bengaluru to various destinations across Karnataka and neighbouring states, helping travellers avoid long waiting times and overcrowding.

Special arrangements have also been made from the Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Stand, from where passengers heading towards Mysuru, Madikeri, and Tamil Nadu will get dedicated services for smoother journeys.

In addition to outward travel, authorities have planned return services to manage the post-festival rush. After Maha Shivaratri, 895 extra buses will be pressed into service to bring passengers back safely to Bengaluru.

To ensure convenience, KSRTC has urged travellers to book their tickets in advance through the official website and mobile application. Online booking will help avoid last-minute hassles and ensure confirmed seats, especially during peak travel hours.
