Kerala-based duo caught in Bengaluru for hiding Thai hydro ganja inside snack and chocolate packets to dodge airport detection.
In a major breakthrough against international drug trafficking, Amruthahalli police in Bengaluru have arrested two drug peddlers and seized 5 kilograms of hydro ganja worth nearly ₹5 crore. The accused had managed to bypass airport checks by hiding the narcotics inside everyday snack and chocolate packets.
The arrested persons have been identified as Majid and Azad, natives of Kerala. According to police, the duo sourced high-grade hydro ganja from Thailand and transported it to Bengaluru for illegal sale. To avoid suspicion during air travel, they concealed the contraband inside packets of Lays chips, KitKat chocolates, and other snack items.

Investigations revealed that the smugglers had successfully evaded airport security checks on multiple occasions using the same method. By packing the ganja in familiar branded food packets, they ensured that no suspicion was raised during baggage screening.

Although the accused managed to escape detection at the airport, Amruthahalli police, acting on specific intelligence inputs, tracked their movement and launched a targeted operation. The police intercepted the duo in Bengaluru, leading to the recovery of the entire 5 kg stock of hydro ganja.
Both the accused have been taken into custody, and further questioning is ongoing to determine the full scale of the smuggling operation.
