Sudha Parimala, who had gone for a walk, remained trapped in a deep pit for nearly 6-8 hours before police traced her mobile location and carried out a late-night rescue using ropes.
A shocking incident was reported in Bengaluru where a 56-year-old woman accidentally fell into a deep pit while she had gone out for a walk. The incident took place yesterday in the Chandralayout area of the city, close to Nagarbhavi Park.
The woman, identified as Sudha Parimala, had stepped out of her house in the morning for her usual walk. However, when she did not return home even by night, her family members began to worry. They repeatedly tried calling her phone but she did not answer, which increased the concern among her relatives.
While walking near Nagarbhavi Park in the Chandralayout locality, Sudha Parimala accidentally slipped and fell into a pit that was nearly 25 feet deep. She remained trapped inside the pit for several hours. According to available information, the woman was stuck there for around six to eight hours, and no one noticed her during that time.

As the hours passed and she still had not returned home, her family grew increasingly anxious. Later in the night, Sudha Parimala regained consciousness and managed to answer a call from her family. During the call, she informed them that she had fallen somewhere and was unable to come out.
Following this information, the family alerted the local police station. The Chandralayout Police immediately began efforts to locate her. Using mobile phone tracking technology, officers traced her location and discovered that she was trapped inside a deep pit near Nagarbhavi Park.
A swift rescue operation was launched by the police late at night. The operation was led by Chandralayout Assistant Sub-Inspector Srinivas Murthy along with Head Constable Vinod. The team reached the location and carried out the rescue operation at around 1 am.
Using ropes, the officers carefully brought the woman out from the 25-foot-deep pit. The dramatic rescue was successfully completed and the entire operation was recorded on video.
After being rescued, Sudha Parimala was immediately shifted to a private hospital for medical treatment. Doctors have admitted her to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she is currently receiving treatment.
