A bitter family feud over property ends in tragedy as two sons allegedly murder their retired BMTC conductor father in Indiranagar’s Doopanahalli area.

A shocking murder case has come to light in Bengaluru, where a bitter property dispute ended in the brutal killing of a father by his own sons. The incident occurred in Doopanahalli under the limits of the Indiranagar Police Station.

The victim, Munikrishna, a retired BMTC conductor, was allegedly attacked and killed by his two sons over a long-standing dispute involving properties worth around ₹6 crore. Police have arrested the elder son, Mohan Kumar, while the younger son, Gajendra, is currently absconding.

According to police sources, Munikrishna retired from BMTC service in 2018. He owned three buildings in Doopanahalli, valued at approximately ₹6 crore. Instead of transferring these properties to his sons, he had executed a will in favour of his grandchildren and his elder brother’s children. One of the buildings was specifically written in the name of his brother’s children.

This decision reportedly angered his sons, who frequently argued with him, demanding that the properties be transferred to their names. The repeated confrontations gradually escalated, finally turning violent.

On the day of the incident, a heated argument broke out between the father and his sons over the same issue. In a fit of rage, both sons allegedly assaulted Munikrishna using an iron rod and a cricket bat. In an attempt to defend himself and scare them off, Munikrishna picked up a knife from the house.

However, the situation worsened when Mohan Kumar allegedly snatched the knife from his father’s hand and stabbed him, causing fatal injuries. Munikrishna collapsed on the spot and died before medical help could arrive.

Police have intensified their investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding accused, while further legal proceedings are in progress.
