72-year-old economist dies of heart attack on Bengaluru-Chennai train despite CPR by doctors

A tragic incident occurred on a train travelling from Bengaluru to Chennai, where a 72-year-old passenger died after suffering a severe heart attack during the journey.

The deceased has been identified as Dr. Veerashekar, an economist and a resident of Vijayanagar in Bengaluru. He had boarded the train to travel to Chennai when the medical emergency took place.

According to available information, Dr. Veerashekar suddenly developed a serious health problem while the train was on its way to Chennai. It was later confirmed that he had suffered a massive heart attack while travelling in the train.

The situation quickly turned critical as fellow passengers noticed his condition and alerted others in the compartment.

Fortunately, two doctors who were travelling on the same train immediately stepped forward to help. They provided immediate first aid and performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) in an effort to revive him.

Despite their quick response and medical assistance, Dr. Veerashekar did not recover, as the heart attack was reportedly severe.

As his condition worsened, the train was stopped at Bangarapet railway station so that he could be taken to a hospital for urgent treatment.

However, after examining him, doctors at the Bangarapet hospital confirmed that Dr. Veerashekar had already passed away in the train due to the heart attack.

Following the confirmation of his death, the authorities carried out the necessary legal procedures, including a post-mortem examination.
After completing the formalities, the body of Dr. Veerashekar was handed over to his children.
