Intensive night-long sanitation drive covers Bengaluru’s busiest commercial and nightlife hubs including Church Street, Indiranagar and Residency Road
Bengaluru’s central business and nightlife districts witnessed a massive cleanliness drive as civic authorities cleared nearly nine tonnes of waste from some of the city’s most crowded roads during the early hours of the day.
The large-scale sanitation operation was carried out across MG Road, Brigade Road, Church Street, Centenary Road, Indiranagar and Residency Road, areas that see heavy footfall, especially during late-night hours.

The cleanliness drive was conducted overnight, beginning at 3:00 am and continuing until 8:00 am, ensuring minimal disruption to traffic and daily movement in these busy localities.
A strong workforce was deployed for the operation. Around 110 civic workers participated in the drive, supported by three junior health inspectors who supervised the sanitation process. To ensure efficient waste removal, 10 auto tippers were pressed into service, while three high-pressure water jet cleaning machines were used to wash roads and public spaces thoroughly.

Civic officials said the coordinated effort helped restore cleanliness in areas that often accumulate large amounts of waste due to late-night activity and high public presence. The operation also highlighted the role of sanitation workers, auto tipper drivers and cleaning staff, who worked through the night to complete the task.
Authorities have reiterated the need for public cooperation to maintain cleanliness in prominent city areas and reduce littering in public spaces.
