Air India surprised Bengaluru passengers with personalised Christmas gifts on the baggage carousel, spreading festive cheer with Santa and celebrations

Passengers arriving at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru were treated to an unexpected festive delight when Air India replaced luggage on the conveyor belt with personalised Christmas gift boxes. The heartwarming gesture quickly captured attention online, with a video of the activation going viral on social media.

The initiative was designed to bring holiday cheer to travellers and create a memorable experience during the festive season. As passengers waited at the baggage carousel, they were surprised to see neatly arranged gift boxes instead of suitcases. Adding to the atmosphere, a Santa Claus walked through the terminal, interacting with travellers and spreading joy. The airport’s festive spirit was further enhanced by announcements wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, prompting smiles and applause from those present.

Each gift box carried a personalised note with the recipient’s name, making the surprise even more special. Travellers were seen capturing the moment on their phones and posing for photographs with Santa Claus, turning the arrival hall into a celebration of togetherness and joy.

The Bengaluru activation was not an isolated event. Just a week earlier, Air India passengers arriving in Mumbai from Bengaluru experienced a similar surprise. At Mumbai International Airport’s Terminal 2, gift hampers curated by Marriott Bonvoy were placed on the baggage carousel, each tagged with the passenger’s seat number.

By blending festive traditions with thoughtful gestures, Air India created a unique travel experience that resonated with passengers and viewers alike. The initiative highlighted the airline’s effort to go beyond routine service, offering travellers a moment of celebration and connection during the holiday season.
