A Bengaluru office boy posing as a travel CEO cheats over 10 women and several men by sending friendly messages, building trust and demanding money through digital payments.
A shocking online fraud case has emerged from Bengaluru after multiple women raised alarms about a man who contacted them through colourful, friendly messages and later demanded money. The fraudster, identified as Sanjay Raj, has reportedly cheated more than 10 women, and even several men, using the same manipulation pattern.
How the fraud was carried out
According to victims, Sanjay works as an office boy in a private company in Bengaluru. But on social media, he introduces himself as the CEO of a major travel agency, using this false identity to build quick trust with women.

He sends friend requests, mostly to young women, and begins conversations with frequent, colourful messages to appear charming and trustworthy. After a few days of constant messaging, he chooses the right moment to send a QR scanner or UPI request, asking for money with emotional reasons or fake emergencies.
Amounts transferred to him range from ₹100 to several thousand rupees.

Pattern of fraud: Trust first, block later
Once the money hits his account, Sanjay reportedly changes his number or blocks the victim immediately, leaving them no way to reach him. Victims say he uses numbers 9036976373 and 6360270047 to contact people.
Several users exposed these incidents on X, revealing screenshots of his chats and detailing similar experiences. Many women also admitted they hesitated to complain because the fraud amount was “too small,” a hesitation he has consistently exploited.

Sanjay doesn’t target only women, he befriends men as well and later manipulates them into sending money using the same tricks.
Fraudster now exposed
With multiple complaints surfacing publicly, social media users have warned Bengaluru residents to avoid responding to his messages and block his number immediately.
Bengaluru Police are expected to examine the reports shared online as digital scams continue to rise across the city.
