Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-SMILE) starts the down-ramp construction for the delayed Ejipura Flyover, with traffic expected to move slowly around Srinivagilu Junction until February 2026.
Commuters using the busy Srinivagilu Junction in Bengaluru will face slow-moving traffic over the next three months, as Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-SMILE), the infrastructure arm of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), has begun work on the down ramp of the long-delayed Ejipura Flyover.
According to officials, the construction began this week and will continue until early February, during which time traffic movement near the BDA Complex and Water Tank stretch will be impacted. Engineers, anticipating congestion, have already developed an alternative 100 ft road from the Domlur side towards Kendriya Sadan to help vehicles move more smoothly during the construction phase.

Raghavendra Prasad, Chief Engineer at B-SMILE, said the work will be expedited to ensure faster progress. “We have already completed the erection of precast segments between Pillars 25 and 26. The girder inspections were conducted on 100 Ft Road, KHB Block, and Koramangala 5th Block. The down ramp work began from Tuesday, and our goal is to finish this portion within three months,” he said.
The overall project, which has faced several delays due to land acquisition hurdles, is now scheduled for completion by March 2026. However, officials say progress depends on pending land clearance from a few property owners, including St John’s Institute and nearby establishments, who are yet to agree to Transferable Development Rights (TDR).
Out of the 2.5 km flyover, about 700 metres still require land clearance. Authorities are coordinating with the revenue and urban development departments to resolve the issue. Once completed, the Ejipura Flyover is expected to significantly ease traffic flow between North-East, East, and West Bengaluru, providing faster connectivity between Domlur, Koramangala, and Madiwala.

Officials emphasised that workers will continue pillar, casting, and ramp construction simultaneously to speed up progress, while traffic police will monitor movement at key junctions to minimise congestion during peak hours.
The Ejipura Flyover, first announced over a decade ago, has been one of Bengaluru’s most delayed infrastructure projects, and its completion is now being closely tracked by both residents and civic authorities eager to see long-awaited relief from daily traffic snarls in the area.
