South Bengaluru civic body cracks down on sanitation violations, penalises hotel in Hosagurappanapalya for poor cleanliness, waste mismanagement, and use of single-use plastic.

In a strict action against sanitation violations, civic authorities of South Bengaluru have imposed a fine of ₹75,000 on All-Faaz Hotel located in Hosagurappanapalya under the jurisdiction of the South City Municipal Corporation. The penalty was levied following the detection of serious hygiene lapses and violations of solid waste management rules.

The action was part of an intensive solid waste management inspection drive carried out by municipal officials to ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation regulations across commercial establishments. During the inspection, officials found alarming levels of unhygienic conditions within the hotel premises, posing potential health risks.

Officials observed that the hotel had failed to properly segregate wet and dry waste, a mandatory requirement under municipal waste management norms. Instead of separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, the hotel was found mixing all types of garbage, directly violating established cleanliness guidelines.

In addition, authorities detected the use of single-use plastic items, which are strictly banned by the government due to their harmful environmental impact. The continued use of prohibited plastic products further aggravated the violations, leading to immediate penal action.

The inspection team also noted poor overall sanitation standards within the hotel campus, including improper waste handling and lack of basic hygiene measures. Considering the seriousness of the violations, officials imposed a cumulative fine of ₹75,000 on the hotel management.
