Bengaluru Cantonment works to disrupt passenger trains: Mysuru-SMVT services diverted for one month

Train services between Mysuru and SMVT Bengaluru will be diverted for a month due to construction works at Bengaluru Cantonment. Two daily passenger special trains will avoid the station and run via alternate routes.

Due to ongoing foot overbridge and air concourse construction at Bengaluru Cantonment, two daily passenger special trains will run on diverted routes from February 17 to March 16, skipping the station.

Railway passengers travelling between Mysuru and SMVT Bengaluru should note important changes in train routes for the next one month, following infrastructure development works at Bengaluru Cantonment station.

Due to the ongoing construction of a foot overbridge and air concourse under Part 2 works at Bengaluru Cantonment, the Railways have announced the diversion of two daily passenger special trains from February 17 to March 16.

Train number 06269 Mysuru-SMVT Bengaluru Daily Passenger Special will operate on a diverted route via KSR Bengaluru, Yeshwantpur and Banaswadi before reaching SMVT Bengaluru. During this period, the train will not halt at Bengaluru Cantonment station.

Similarly, train number 06270 SMVT Bengaluru-Mysuru Daily Passenger Special will also follow a modified path. Instead of passing through Bengaluru Cantonment, the service will run via SMVT Bengaluru, Banaswadi, Yeshwantpur and KSR Bengaluru, before continuing towards Mysuru.

Railway officials said the temporary route change is essential to ensure the smooth and safe execution of the foot overbridge and air concourse construction works. These upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to improve passenger movement, safety and overall station infrastructure at Bengaluru Cantonment.

Passengers who regularly use Bengaluru Cantonment station are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternate stations such as KSR Bengaluru, Yeshwantpur or Banaswadi during the diversion period.
