As police intensify their probe into the Bengaluru college student gang r*pe case, disturbing details of a planned criminal network, drug abuse, blackmail attempts, and high-profile connections have emerged.

The Bengaluru college student gang r*pe case has taken a major and shocking turn, with police uncovering a well-organised criminal network led by the prime accused, Nikhil, and his close associate Dixon. What initially appeared as a single case has now expanded into a large-scale investigation involving multiple victims, drug abuse, organised crime, and suspected political and influential links.

Earlier, accused Nikhil had lodged a complaint at Malleshwaram Police Station, claiming that the survivor had fallen on him and that her associates were blackmailing him for money. However, during police interrogation and detailed investigation, explosive revelations emerged, exposing Nikhil as the mastermind of a well-planned gang targeting college students.

Nikhil, a native of Sakleshpur in Hassan district, ran a second-hand car showroom and car washing centre in Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru. His associate Dixon, a native of West Bengal, along with three to four others, formed a gang that targeted young women from reputed colleges in the city. Using Instagram and social media platforms, the gang built friendships with college students, gained their trust, and later invited them to private parties.

Once the girls agreed, parties were organised at a villa near Jakkur, arranged by Nikhil. Victims were allegedly pressured into sexual acts. When they resisted, the accused reportedly forced alcohol, drugs, or sedative pills, rendering them semi-conscious. The gang then sexually assaulted the victims. In the morning, they claimed that everyone was intoxicated and avoided accountability. Many victims, fearing social stigma, remained silent.

However, in this case, one brave survivor filed a complaint, triggering a massive investigation. Police arrested Nikhil and Dixon, who are now in five days of police custody under Amruthahalli Police Station. During investigation, it emerged that 19 victims have so far contacted the police, and statements from all are being recorded.

Investigators also found that the villa used for parties belongs to a highly influential person, reportedly an IPS officer, and verification is underway. After Nikhil’s arrest, influential individuals allegedly attempted to pressure police, requesting leniency. However, after facts emerged, the same individuals urged authorities to conduct a fair probe.

Police have seized CCTV DVR systems, mobile phones, and sent devices for data retrieval. Videos of the parties were reportedly recorded by the accused. Statements of three women and one man have been officially documented, while five more individuals were questioned today. The probe is being conducted from both rape and extortion angles, as Nikhil also filed a counter complaint alleging extortion, which is now under parallel investigation.

Dixon’s mother has denied her son’s involvement, stating that the youths were friends and claiming her son is innocent.

Meanwhile, the survivor revealed chilling details. She stated that Dixon contacted her through Instagram in January, gained her trust through messages of love and promises, and later invited her to a villa party. There, she alleges both Dixon and Nikhil sexually assaulted her after forcing unknown substances. She regained consciousness partially clothed and later realised she had been violated. The survivor denied all extortion allegations and pleaded only for justice.

Police say further arrests are likely, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the gang’s criminal network.
