Magadi-based Nagaraju @ Achari held for using forged RTC, land records and ID proofs to help multiple accused obtain bail through fake surety submissions.
In a major breakthrough, Bengaluru Police have arrested a man for allegedly submitting fake surety documents in court to help multiple accused obtain bail. The accused, identified as Nagaraju @ Achari, a resident of Magadi, is accused of preparing and submitting forged land records, RTC documents and identity proofs to mislead the judicial system.
According to police officials, Nagaraju was acting as a fake surety provider, helping accused persons secure bail by submitting fabricated legal and property documents. Investigations revealed that he provided fake surety for as many as nine accused persons, including in one case where four accused were granted bail based on forged documents.
To make the documents appear genuine, Nagaraju allegedly submitted fake RTC extracts, forged land ownership papers, and counterfeit identity cards. These documents were filed in court under the name of a person identified as Shivakumar, whose identity was also misused.

The scam came to light when court officials carried out routine verification of the submitted documents. During scrutiny, discrepancies were found in the records, and the documents were confirmed to be forged and fabricated.
Following this, court authorities alerted the police and issued diections to register a case. Acting swiftly, the Halasuru Gate Police registered an FIR and launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of Nagaraju.
Police arrested Nagaraju and seized multiple forged documents, including fake land papers and identity cards. Preliminary investigations suggest that he had been systematically offering fake surety services to accused persons seeking bail, thereby undermining the legal process.

Officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine whether others were involved in the racket and to verify how many cases were affected by the submission of fake surety documents.
