Newly inaugurated Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara Metro Station on Yellow Line faces backlash after two-wheeler riders fined ₹500 for parking without clear signage.

The newly inaugurated Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara Metro Station on Bengaluru’s Yellow Line has landed in controversy after commuters reported being fined ₹500 for parking two-wheelers without prior notice. The incident has triggered frustration among passengers, many of whom took to social media to criticize the lack of clear instructions on parking rules.

The station, funded by the Infosys Foundation, is part of the Yellow Line launched on August 10. Spanning 19.1 km from RV Road to Bommasandra with 16 elevated stations, the line aims to ease congestion in southern Bengaluru and boasts modern facilities such as platform screen doors and advanced accessibility features.

Despite its cutting-edge design, the parking fines have cast a shadow over the commuter experience. A city resident wrote online: “What’s the point of opening a huge metro station when you are penalizing the public for two-wheeler parking without any notice? So many people are turning back just because of this stupid notice.”

So far, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has not officially responded to the growing criticism. Commuters are demanding proper signage, transparency in parking regulations, and affordable alternatives to ensure the station truly serves the public it was designed for.
