Over 40 days after launch, BMRCL installs seats at most Yellow Line stations, easing long waits for passengers on the RV Road–Bommasandra corridor.

Over 40 days after the inauguration of Bengaluru’s Yellow Line Metro, most stations along the 19km corridor between RV Road and Bommasandra have finally been fitted with seating, ending a major commuter concern. Passengers had faced waits of up to 25 minutes, and the lack of seats, especially for the elderly, had drawn widespread complaints.

Stations such as BTM Layout, Jayadeva Hospital, Ragigudda, and Konappana Agrahara now provide seating for at least 35 passengers per platform, making daily commutes more comfortable while waiting for trains. These improvements address immediate commuter needs as service frequency is ramped up.

Adding to the relief, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is set to introduce a fifth train set on the Yellow Line. Currently, four trains operate with a 19-minute gap between services. The addition of the fifth train is expected to reduce waiting intervals to just 15 minutes, easing congestion and significantly improving the commuting experience during peak hours.
