Major anti-encroachment operation launched to remove unauthorised banners across Bengaluru North, with Kodigehalli recording the highest removals.
A large-scale drive to remove unauthorised flexes, banners, and hoardings was carried out across the Bengaluru North city municipal limits, resulting in the clearance of hundreds of illegal displays in a single day. The operation focused on improving public spaces and addressing visual clutter caused by unauthorised advertisements.
As part of the enforcement action, a total of 473 illegal flexes, banners, and hoardings were removed from various localities under the Bengaluru North civic body. The drive covered multiple wards and key residential and commercial areas where unauthorised displays had been put up without permission.

Kodigehalli emerged as the area with the highest number of violations, with 280 flexes, banners, and hoardings removed in one stretch. Other locations also saw significant action, including T Dasarahalli, where 54 illegal banners were cleared, and Thanisandra, which recorded the removal of 45 such displays.
Further, the civic teams removed 38 banners in Jakkur, 35 in Attur, and 21 in Yelahanka Satellite Town as part of the same operation. The coordinated drive was carried out by municipal teams to ensure uniform enforcement across the northern zone of the city.
The action is part of ongoing efforts to curb the unauthorised use of public spaces, improve road visibility, and enhance the overall urban environment. Civic authorities have indicated that similar drives will continue in the coming days to ensure compliance with advertising norms and to prevent the reappearance of illegal flexes and hoardings.
