Commuters on Outer Ring Road brace for detours as HAL Traffic Police rolls out one-week trial traffic changes to ease congestion near Marathahalli and Kadubeesanahalli.

If you are a regular commuter on Outer Ring Road (ORR), gear up for a temporary but significant change! To tackle the notorious traffic snarls on the IT corridor stretch, HAL Airport Traffic Police has announced a week-long diversion on the Marathahalli–Kadubeesanahalli service road.

Starting September 19 until September 26, 2025, all vehicles will be barred from taking the service road connecting ORR to Marathahalli and Kadubeesanahalli near popular landmarks like Le Arabia, Biryani Zone, and Croma Junction.

This move, officials say, is a trial aimed at decongesting the gridlocked ORR stretch that sees thousands of vehicles daily, especially during office peak hours.

What’s the alternate route?

Vehicles heading from Mahadevapura towards Kadubeesanahalli can take the service road near Kalamandir, perform a U-turn near Marathahalli Kanti Sweet underpass, turn left near Marathahalli bridge, and continue on the service road via Munnekolala to reach Kadubeesanahalli Junction, Panathur, and Kariyammana Agrahara.

Commuters are being urged to cooperate with the changes and plan extra travel time during the trial week. Police officials will monitor the situation closely and may consider permanent diversions based on public response.

So, if your daily drive takes you through this IT corridor stretch, keep an eye out for signages, expect detours, and maybe leave home a bit earlier to avoid frustration.
