Bengaluru police announced festive traffic curbs: Davis Road closed near Holy Ghost Church, no-parking zones, and mall-specific pick-up/drop-off points
With Christmas celebrations and year-end festivities drawing large crowds, Bengaluru traffic police have announced special advisories for Pulakeshinagar and Mahadevapura to manage vehicular flow and prevent congestion.
Davis Road Closure
To accommodate the expected gathering at Holy Ghost Church, Davis Road will be closed to traffic between John Armstrong Road and Cookson Road junctions. The restriction will be in place from 7 pm on Wednesday until noon on Thursday.
Alternative Routes
Commuters heading from Davis Road towards HM Road must divert at John Armstrong Road Junction, continue straight, turn left onto Viviani Road, and then take another left onto Cookson Road to reconnect with Davis Road. Parking will not be permitted on Davis Road, Banasawadi Main Road, Wheeler’s Road, St John’s Church Road, Haines Road, and Promenade Road during this period.

Mall Traffic Management
Heavy footfall is anticipated near Phoenix Mall, VR Mall, and Nexus Shantiniketan. To ease movement, restrictions will be enforced from noon on Wednesday until 11 pm on December 28. ITPL Main Road will function as a ‘No Parking’ zone on both sides, covering stretches from Shell Petrol Bunk to Garudacharpalya Decathlon and from Medicare Hospital to Big Bazaar junction.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Points
For Phoenix Mall, designated drop-off and pick-up points are set at the Bescom office and Lowry Junction. At Nexus Shantiniketan, Rajapalya and Aster Hospital will serve as the respective points. Vehicles approaching from Hoodi or KR Puram must turn at Shell Petrol Bunk and use Railway Parallel Road to access the mall through its rear gate.
These measures aim to balance festive gatherings with smoother traffic flow across busy city corridors.
