Recurring road hazards in Silicon City raise fresh safety concerns
A two-wheeler rider was seriously injured after falling into a pothole on Gunjur Road in Bengaluru, highlighting the continuing pothole problem in the city. The incident took place at around 5 pm on Friday evening in the Gunjur area.
The injured person has been identified as Sridhar, who was returning home after finishing work. While riding through the stretch, his bike reportedly skidded due to a pothole on the road, causing him to lose control and fall.
According to sources, Sridhar suffered a fracture to his hand and sustained a severe injury to his right shoulder. He later underwent surgery and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.

Local residents say the condition of Gunjur Road has deteriorated due to multiple ongoing development works. The road surface is filled with deep potholes and thick dust, making daily travel extremely difficult for commuters.
Regular users of the road claim that accidents have become frequent on this stretch, especially during peak hours. Two-wheeler riders are said to be the worst affected, with several near-miss incidents reported in recent days.
The latest accident has once again brought attention to the poor state of roads in the Silicon City, where potholes continue to pose a serious risk to public safety despite repeated complaints.
