Anonymous email claims four bombs planted at National Public School, Jayanagar; police find no explosives but security tightened till February 25 deadline.
A private school in Bengaluru has been put on high alert after receiving a bomb threat email demanding money, triggering panic among the school management and parents. The threat was sent to National Public School (NPS) located in Jayanagar 4th Block, police confirmed.
According to the police, an individual identifying himself as Mohammed Iqbal sent an email claiming that four bombs had been planted inside the school premises. The email demanded a payment of 60,000 US dollars (approximately ₹50 lakh) and warned that the bombs would be detonated if the demand was not met by February 25. The sender specifically asked for the amount to be paid via cryptocurrency.
Investigators said the threatening email was sent as early as January 1 (New Year’s Day). However, the message was noticed only later when the school principal checked the official email account, leading to shock and immediate concern.

Soon after reading the email, the school authorities filed a complaint at the Tilak Nagar police station. Acting on the information, police teams rushed to the school and conducted a thorough inspection. Bomb disposal squad and dog squad teams were deployed to search the campus.
After an extensive check, the police confirmed that no explosive materials were found anywhere on the school premises. Despite this, security has been stepped up, as the email clearly mentions February 25 as the final deadline.
Police officials said the accused continues to keep the school under threat, and investigations are underway to trace the sender of the email. Meanwhile, due to the repeated mention of the deadline, the school administration is running the institution under constant fear, ensuring daily precautions and close coordination with the police.

Authorities have assured that all necessary measures are in place to ensure the safety of students and staff, while efforts continue to identify and apprehend the person behind the threat.
