Bengaluru’s evening commuters faced unexpected delays today after a technical issue disrupted services along the Yellow Line of Namma Metro, which connects RV Road to Bommasandra. According to officials from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the disruption began around 7:00 PM, causing trains to run behind schedule.

Passengers at multiple stations reported extended waiting times, particularly during peak travel hours, when the line is typically crowded with office-goers and residents returning home. While the trains continued to operate, the frequency was lower than usual, resulting in overcrowding on platforms and inside coaches.
The BMRCL technical team was immediately deployed to identify and resolve the fault. By 9:00 PM, officials confirmed that services were expected to resume their regular timetable, assuring commuters that the issue was temporary and fully under control.
BMRCL regrets inconvenience
In an official statement, the Chief Public Relations Officer of BMRCL said, “We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and truly appreciate the patience and understanding shown by passengers during the disruption.”
The Yellow Line, one of the city’s busiest corridors, plays a critical role in easing traffic congestion along the southern stretches of Bengaluru. Commuters have increasingly come to rely on metro services as a faster and more reliable alternative to road transport.
While the problem will soon be addressed, BMRCL has promised a detailed review to prevent similar occurrences in the future, reiterating its commitment to providing safe and efficient urban mobility.
