The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has completed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Bengaluru’s upcoming international cricket stadium at Suryanagar, which will feature world-class facilities and 80,000 seats.

Bengaluru is all set to join the league of cities with world-class sporting infrastructure, as the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has completed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a massive international cricket stadium at Suryanagar. The project, estimated at ₹2,350 crore, has received the state government’s official approval and is poised to transform the southern corridor of the city into a new sports hub.

Spread across 75 acres, the proposed Bengaluru International Cricket Stadium will be one of the largest in India, with a seating capacity of 80,000 spectators, second only to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The venue will not only host international cricket matches but also accommodate 24 indoor and outdoor sports disciplines, making it a multi-sport complex of global standards.

According to officials, the Karnataka Housing Board has already acquired 52 acres of land, while the remaining 23 acres are in the final stages of acquisition. The architectural design for the stadium has also been finalised, promising advanced sporting amenities, premium seating, training facilities, and ample public infrastructure for smooth crowd management.

The KHB has completed the DPR and is set to present it before the state cabinet for approval. Once cleared, the Board plans to float a global tender to kickstart construction. Officials said priority would be given to ensuring international-level standards in infrastructure, player facilities, and spectator experience.
