Bengaluru’s long-delayed road projects, including flyovers, grade separators, and railway works, are slated for completion by early to mid-2026. While timelines offer hope, repeated delays leave citizens skeptical about on-time delivery.

  • Ten major Bengaluru road projects are slated for completion
  • Most projects have faced repeated delays
  • These are all critical to easing traffic congestion

Bengaluru’s key flyovers, grade separators, and railway projects aim for early‑2026 completion, but repeated delays keep commuters doubtful of timely relief

Bengaluru’s commuters may finally see relief as several long-delayed infrastructure projects are expected to be completed within the next six months. While deadlines have repeatedly shifted, civic authorities now anticipate progress on at least ten major works that have been under construction for years.

Among the most awaited is the integrated flyover at Yelahanka police station circle, which also connects Shesharipuram College and BWSSB Junction. Work began in December 2021, but the finish line has been pushed to June 2026. Similarly, the Ullal Main Road grade separators linking Kengeri Outer Ring Road, initiated in November 2020, are now scheduled for completion by February 2026.

The HMT Road–Pipeline Road grade separator, also launched in late 2020, shares the same February 2026 deadline. Another project dragging on for over five years—the Kerekodi Road grade separator at Hosakerehalli Junction—has a revised target of January 2026.

More recent undertakings include the Annapoorneshwari Nagara Main Road grade separators, begun in July 2022, which are expected to conclude by March 2026. Pipeline Road via Kurubarahalli, connecting West of Chord Road to the Outer Ring Road, is also slated for February 2026.

The Ejipura corridor, linking Inner Ring Road, Sony World Junction, and Kendriya Sadan Junction, has been a source of frustration for residents since its launch in November 2023. Authorities now promise completion by June 2026. Improvement works along Ring Road—from NH Tumakuru Road Junction to Nayandanahalli Junction, and from Sumanahalli Junction to Ambedkar College—are similarly targeted for February 2026.

Railway-related projects are also on the list. The Jakkur overbridge between Yelahanka and Channasandra stations, started in March 2024, is expected by February 2026. Approach ramps near Yelahanka Railway Station, connecting Old Town and New Town, should be ready by March 2026.

However, not all projects inspire confidence. The bridge near Bengaluru University junction, initiated in July 2022, remains suspended. Meanwhile, the Jalahalli Circle grade separator, first announced in 2019, has yet to break ground.

For weary commuters, these timelines offer cautious optimism. Yet with repeated delays, skepticism remains over whether Bengaluru’s long-promised road upgrades will truly materialize on schedule.
