  • BESCOM launches Land Aggregator Portal for EV infrastructure
  • Single-window system for land, approvals, and power supply
  • Boost to green mobility and EV charging stations statewide

New single-window digital system aims to boost green mobility by easing land access, power connections, and approvals for EV charging and battery swapping stations statewide.

In a major boost for electric vehicle users and investors, BESCOM has introduced a Land Aggregator Portal to speed up the development of EV charging and battery swapping infrastructure across Karnataka. The initiative is aimed at promoting green mobility and reducing pollution by making EV infrastructure easier to set up.

Under this unique, country-first initiative, EV charging stations and battery swapping centres will come up across cities and highways in the state. The portal introduces a single-window system to provide quick electricity connections and simplify approvals for charging station construction.

The digital platform will act as a common space for private landowners, government departments, private companies, vendors, and charge point operators. Through the portal, landowners can register and offer their land for EV charging or battery swapping centres on a lease, rent, or revenue-sharing basis.

At the same time, vendors and charge point operators can identify suitable locations, set up EV charging stations, and manage their operations. The portal also enables direct coordination with BESCOM to obtain electricity connections through a single digital dashboard.

Officials said the system will significantly reduce delays by allowing online application submission, approval tracking, and progress monitoring. The single-window mechanism will be implemented both for the construction of charging stations and for securing power supply from BESCOM.

Special focus will be given to developing public EV infrastructure in urban areas and along highways. The initiative is also expected to encourage the creation of EV hubs and expand projects through public–private partnerships.

Once landowners and charging operators finalise a location and receive the feasibility report, operators can apply for power connections directly through the portal’s unified dashboard. The platform is designed to help charging stations come up at a much faster pace and strengthen EV infrastructure across the state.
