A loose kite string wrapped around a moving car sliced through a man’s leg in RT Nagar, exposing the growing danger of kite flying on busy city roads.

In a horrific accident reported from RT Nagar near Hebbal, a kite string (manja) severely injured a young man, cutting deep into his leg.

The incident occurred on the morning of January 31. The victim, Nagarjuna, works as a GBA garbage auto driver. After completing his duty, he was returning home when he noticed a kite string entangled with a biker on the road. Concerned about the risk, Nagarjuna stopped to help remove the string.

However, tragedy struck within seconds. As Nagarjuna attempted to free the string, a speeding car passed by, causing the kite string to get tightly wrapped around his leg. The sudden pull turned the string razor-sharp, slicing through his leg like a knife.

The impact was severe. Three major nerves in his leg were cut, leaving him with serious injuries. Nagarjuna was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have confirmed that he will need at least four months to fully recover, raising concerns about his livelihood and the burden on his family.

Disturbing CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, clearly showing how dangerous the kite string was. The visuals, accessed by NewsFirst, underline how a careless act by one person can lead to life-altering consequences for another.

Shocked by the seriousness of the wound, locals rushed him to a private hospital. However, within just two days, the medical bill touched nearly ₹4 lakh, leaving the family in distress. Nagarjun, who drives a garbage auto on a contract basis under the GBA system, has neither ESI coverage nor health insurance. The family is now struggling to arrange the huge amount and is hoping for support from solid waste management authorities.

Injured due to no fault of his own, Nagarjun is now paying a heavy price for someone else’s mistake.
