After reports suggested BlackBuck was vacating its Bellandur office due to poor infrastructure and commute delays, the company clarified it is only relocating within Bengaluru, not leaving the city.
The city’s once-celebrated Outer Ring Road (ORR) tech corridor is fast turning into a commuter nightmare. Traffic volumes have reportedly surged by nearly 45% over the past year, forcing employees to spend over 90 minutes on one-way commutes through pothole-ridden roads and slow-moving traffic.

The worsening infrastructure is now beginning to impact corporate operations. Digital trucking platform BlackBuck, which operated from its Bellandur office for nine years, announced it would vacate the premises, a move that triggered speculation that the company was planning to exit Bengaluru altogether.
BlackBuck Issues Clarification
In a statement issued to the media, BlackBuck clarified that it is not leaving Bengaluru but is merely relocating within the city.
"We unilaterally refute the claims made by some media outlets that we are considering moving out of the city. We are only relocating within the city to a different location, which will facilitate an easy commute for our employees," the company said.

The company also reiterated its commitment to continue operations on the ORR and called on the government to improve infrastructure. "We will not only continue to remain in the city of Bengaluru but will also expand our footprint here. Bengaluru is home for us," the statement read.
Despite the clarification, the incident highlights a growing challenge for Bengaluru’s tech and startup ecosystem. Persistent traffic congestion, poor road conditions, and inadequate public transport connectivity along ORR are pushing companies to rethink their office locations, potentially impacting the city’s reputation as India’s tech hub.
