  • BMRCL to build an AI-powered Security Operations Centre at Baiyappanahalli
  • The centre will monitor IT and CCTV networks across all metro lines 24x7
  • The facility will support future expansion and advanced threat response

As cyber and AI-based threats surge, Bengaluru Metro takes a proactive step to protect its IT and surveillance systems through a high-tech Security Operations Centre.

In a bid to fortify its digital defences, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is establishing a state-of-the-art Security Operations Centre (SOC) at Baiyappanahalli. The move comes amid a sharp rise in cyberattacks and AI-generated threats targeting public infrastructure systems across the country.

The SOC will function as a central command hub to monitor, detect, and respond to both cyber and physical security incidents in real time. By integrating BMRCL’s extensive IT systems and CCTV surveillance network under one roof, the centre will ensure round-the-clock vigilance over all 83 metro stations spanning the Purple, Green, and Yellow lines.

Equipped with AI-driven tools, the centre will employ multi-level security analysts working in shifts to ensure uninterrupted protection. It will be capable of identifying system vulnerabilities, detecting malware, analysing threat patterns, and conducting digital forensic investigations. The use of behavioural analysis and pattern recognition will help the SOC isolate affected systems and eliminate threats before they disrupt operations.

Designed to be scalable, the Baiyappanahalli facility will include server racks, LED display walls, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and advanced monitoring software. It will also allow future expansion as technology evolves. The initiative marks a major step towards strengthening Namma Metro’s digital backbone, ensuring commuter safety and operational reliability in an increasingly connected transport ecosystem.
