On Sunday evening at around 6.49 pm, panic gripped Kamalanagar near the Dr Rajkumar Circle after a BMTC bus reportedly suffered brake failure and rammed into a roadside tree. The impact was so intense that a bike and a car, approaching from behind, also crashed into the bus. An autorickshaw and a few pedestrians narrowly escaped what could have been a major tragedy.

Eyewitnesses said the bus suddenly surged forward, leaving people in shock as it came dangerously close to running into a crowd. Several passengers inside the bus sustained minor injuries. However, no fatalities were reported. Traffic police rushed to the spot, cleared the damaged vehicles, and restored traffic flow.
