A 25-year-old beautician from Nagaland lost her life near KR Puram railway station after two BMTC electric buses allegedly raced to overtake, hitting a bike and dragging the woman under the bus wheels.
A tragic road accident in Bengaluru has claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman after a BMTC electric bus allegedly driven rashly crushed her under its wheels. The fatal incident occurred near the KR Puram Railway Station while the bus was heading towards Silk Board Tin Factory.
According to police, the victim, a beautician by profession, originally from Nagaland and residing in Marathahalli, was travelling on a motorcycle along with her friend. As they were passing through the busy stretch, two BMTC electric buses were reportedly competing to overtake each other at high speed.
In the dangerous attempt, one bus tried to overtake the other, leaving no space between the divider on one side and moving traffic on the other. During this reckless manoeuvre, the bus rammed into the motorcycle. The sudden impact caused the bike to lose balance, throwing both riders onto the road.
