BMTC and BMRCL have moved and added bus stops near Yellow Line metro stations to improve last-mile connectivity, except at a few locations with space constraints

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has shifted and added several bus stops along Namma Metro’s Yellow Line corridor to improve last-mile connectivity for commuters. The move follows repeated complaints that bus stops were located too far from the newly opened metro stations.

Metro services on the Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road–Delta Electronics Bommasandra stretch commenced on August 11, 2025. After joint inspections, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) and BMTC identified key locations where closer integration between bus and metro services was needed to make transfers easier and quicker.

New BMTC stops have now been created near metro stations at Biocon Hebbagodi, Beratena Agrahara, Singasandra, Hongasandra, Central Silk Board, and R.V. Road. Existing stops at Electronics City, Hosa Road, and Ragigudda have been moved nearer to the corresponding metro stations to reduce walking distance for passengers.

Officials also clarified that at Jayadeva, BTM Layout, Bommanahalli, Kudlu Gate, and Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara, bus stops were already within roughly 100 metres of the metro stations, and therefore did not require relocation.

However, authorities said that shifting bus stops at Huskur Road and Delta Electronics Bommasandra was not feasible due to space constraints. Despite these limitations, transport officials maintain that the changes made will significantly enhance overall connectivity and commuter convenience along the Yellow Line.
