Threats sent via email and phone trigger police cases at Halasuru and Vidhana Soudha police stations

Security concerns resurfaced in Bengaluru after bomb threats and death threats were issued to two foreign diplomatic offices located in the city, triggering police action and heightened vigilance.

An email threatening a bomb blast was sent to the Italian Consulate office near Halasuru. The email claimed that five RDX bombs would be detonated. The message was sent from the email ID [email protected] to the official consulate email [email protected].

Following the threat mail, the Security Manager of the Italian Consulate, Geodomenico O Milano, filed a formal complaint at the Halasuru Police Station. Police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the source of the email.

Soon after the Italian Consulate threat, a separate threat was reported at the Japanese Consulate General office located on Cubbon Road. The consulate received two threatening phone calls from an unknown number on the office landline.
