The boy, Gagan, had been taken to KC General Hospital last month by his mother, Mala, after he complained of ear pain. Following a consultation, the ENT specialist referred him for a CT scan. The family then approached Hindlab, located within the hospital premises, for the scan.
According to the parents, the lab issued a wrong report, which led the consulting doctors to make an incorrect diagnosis. Gagan was later referred to Victoria Hospital, where he was prescribed medication based on the faulty findings. Soon after, his condition worsened severely, and he was admitted to a private hospital for emergency treatment.
Days later, the family reportedly received a call from Hind Lab admitting that the CT scan report had been issued in error. By then, Gagan’s health had deteriorated drastically, and doctors confirmed that he had suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Mala, the boy’s mother, said that her son’s condition would not have become so serious if the correct report had been given initially. The family has filed a complaint with Malleswaram Police Station, demanding accountability and strict action against the lab for negligence.
