Web-based calls, secured chamber and piles of personal papers emerge as key focus of SIT probe
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of real estate entrepreneur and Confident Group Chairman C.J. Roy has received his Call Detail Records (CDR). However, the report has not provided the breakthrough investigators were hoping for.
According to police sources, Roy rarely made direct phone calls. Instead, he predominantly used web-based calling platforms, making it difficult to trace his communication trail through conventional call records. As a result, the CDR analysis did not reveal frequent or significant direct calls with any particular individual.
Following this development, the SIT’s technical team has begun an advanced web “hunting” process. Investigators are now attempting to retrieve Roy’s call history through URL numbers, hoping to reconstruct his web-call communication network.

Meanwhile, a large volume of documentary evidence has emerged as a crucial part of the investigation. Piles of handwritten papers recovered from Roy’s office have now become key material for the SIT. Officials say Roy had a habit of writing down his thoughts, plans, concerns, and ideas whenever something came to his mind.
Sources revealed that Roy would often scribble notes roughly and leave them on his work table. He reportedly did not allow anyone into his chamber. His office was secured with face recognition technology, and access was restricted exclusively to him.
Because of this high level of security and privacy, Roy freely documented his internal thoughts and future plans on paper. Investigators found large stacks of such handwritten notes inside the chamber, which are now being carefully examined.

SIT officials believe these papers could provide a clearer picture of the circumstances leading to his death. At present, officers are deeply engaged in analysing the paperwork, treating it as one of the most important sources of evidence.
Investigators have indicated that the reason behind the death is “simple”, but what exactly that means has become a subject of intense curiosity.
The SIT has stated that a clear conclusion on C.J. Roy’s death is expected within a week. The Karnataka government remains confident in the investigation, citing Bengaluru Police’s track record in cracking complex and high-profile cases.
The probe is being led by SIT Chief Vamshi Krishna, under the supervision of DCP Lokesh Jagalasar, with the investigation team working round the clock. Officials say the mystery surrounding the death is likely to be resolved soon.
