During surprise city rounds, the Karnataka CM halted his convoy to inspect illegal waste dumping, questioned civic officials over negligence, and directed immediate road repairs.
Karnataka Chief Minister, during his city rounds on Saturday, took officials by surprise with a sharp inspection of civic lapses across Bengaluru.

As his convoy passed through Ring Road, the CM noticed a stretch where construction debris had been illegally dumped in the absence of CCTV coverage. Ordering his driver to halt, he got down to inspect the site and directed officials to trace the culprits, seize their vehicles, and file criminal cases without delay.
Turning to civic officers on duty, the CM questioned sharply, “How can such dumping go unnoticed? Are officials moving around the city with their eyes shut?” His remarks were aimed at GBA, BDA, and traffic police, who he accused of negligence in monitoring civic responsibilities.

The inspection further brought to light service roads left neglected during Metro works, with blocked drainage systems and stretches of white-topping roads in poor condition. Taking note, the CM instructed agencies to ensure immediate repairs, better drainage flow, and proper upkeep of service roads impacted by Metro projects.
The city rounds, which covered multiple zones, were aimed at reviewing ground-level civic conditions. With rising public anger over Bengaluru’s infrastructure, the CM’s unannounced checks are being seen as a signal that accountability will now be enforced on civic bodies.
