Collins Aerospace opens $100 million facility in Bengaluru to boost global manufacturing

Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX, has inaugurated a $100 million facility in Bengaluru to produce advanced aerospace components. The plant will employ 2,200 people by 2026 and features AI, robotics, and additive manufacturing technologies.

The new 26-acre Collins India Operations Center at KIADB Aerospace Park will focus on advanced aerospace manufacturing, creating over 2,200 jobs by 2026.

Bengaluru has added another feather to its cap as an aerospace hub, with Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of the global aerospace and defence major RTX, inaugurating a new manufacturing facility at an investment of USD 100 million. The state-of-the-art Collins India Operations Center (CIOC), located at KIADB Aerospace Park, aims to strengthen the company’s global manufacturing capability and contribute to India’s growing aviation ecosystem.

Spread across 26 acres, the new facility will initially produce a range of advanced aerospace components including aircraft seats, lighting systems, cargo handling systems, temperature sensors, water solutions, evacuation slides, and communication and navigation systems.

Equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, and robotics, the CIOC facility is designed to meet global standards in efficiency and innovation. Collins Aerospace has announced that the center will employ over 2,200 skilled professionals by 2026, creating new opportunities in Bengaluru’s aerospace sector.

The $100 million investment forms part of RTX’s larger $250 million commitment to India announced five years ago. Of this, $100 million has already been invested in the company’s engineering and test development center, while another $50 million has gone into Pratt & Whitney’s engineering operations in India.
