Bike collision turns violent: Chain used to assault driver on Hulimavu-Devarachikkanahalli Main Road

A shocking incident of road rage and assault was reported from Hulimavu in south Bengaluru, where a cab driver was allegedly attacked by two young women in an inebriated state following a minor traffic collision. The incident occurred on the busy Hulimavu-Devarachikkanahalli Main Road, triggering panic among local residents and commuters.

According to the police, the victims and the accused were returning after visiting a hotel along with their friends. The two young women, residents of the J.P. Nagar and Koramangala areas, were travelling on a two-wheeler when their bike allegedly brushed against a cab from behind, causing minor damage to the vehicle.

The cab driver, identified as Ahmed, stated that he was on duty and heading to pick up a customer at the time of the incident. He said he stopped the vehicle and asked the two-wheeler riders to compensate for the damage caused. However, instead of cooperating, the duo allegedly tried to flee the scene by restarting their bike.

Seeing this, local residents intervened and managed to stop them. During the confrontation, Ahmed attempted to remove the key of the two-wheeler to prevent their escape. At this point, the situation escalated, and the two women allegedly attacked him.

In his complaint, Ahmed stated that one of the accused wrapped a metal chain around her hand and assaulted him repeatedly, targeting his face, hands, and back. The sudden and violent attack left him injured and shocked. Locals once again stepped in, restrained the attackers, and provided immediate assistance to the victim.

Following the incident, Ahmed approached the Hulimavu Police Station and filed a formal complaint. Based on his statement, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated legal proceedings. Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and recording witness statements to establish the exact sequence of events.

Police officials confirmed that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
