Exclusive access to the Confident Group chairman’s death note offers fresh direction to the SIT probe into his death in Bengaluru.
New details have emerged in the death of Confident Group Chairman C.J. Roy, who died by suicide in Bengaluru a few days ago. The contents of a handwritten death note left behind by Roy have now come to light, offering crucial insights into the circumstances surrounding his death. The document has been accessed exclusively by NewsFirst.
Investigators say the death note holds important clues that may help unravel the mystery behind the incident. Police sources confirmed that the note is now a key part of the ongoing investigation and is being closely examined by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) assigned to the case.
According to the contents of the note, C.J. Roy began by apologising to his family members, stating that he was taking an “extreme step” and asking for their forgiveness. The note reflects emotional distress but also contains detailed and structured instructions related to his personal and professional affairs.

Roy reportedly mentioned specific financial details, including information on money owed to him by others. He also clearly outlined who should manage his business after his death, naming successors and explaining how responsibilities should be handled going forward.
In the note, Roy made a strong request that individuals who had been associated with the Confident Group for a long time should not be sidelined. He described them as trusted and loyal associates and urged that they continue to be part of the organisation.
The SIT is currently verifying the contents of the note and has begun recording statements from Roy’s wife and children. Investigators believe these statements will help cross-check the financial and business-related references mentioned in the note.
Sources also revealed that Roy had earlier shared financial details with his wife on several occasions, especially about payments he had made to others. He had spoken about this openly in a recent YouTube interview, stating that his wife was aware of many of his financial dealings and business matters.
Given this background, SIT officials are expected to question Roy’s wife in greater detail after the funeral rites are completed, as she is believed to have significant knowledge of his financial records and business secrets.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities relying heavily on the death note to piece together the final events leading to Roy’s death.
