Serious allegations of bribery and police misconduct have surfaced in Bengaluru, with a youth accusing personnel from Kumbalagodu Police Station of demanding ₹10 lakh to avoid filing a false case against him.

The complaint revolves around an incident at a bar in Kumbalagodu, where three men, Rakesh, Gopi and Swami, allegedly created a disturbance after consuming alcohol and argued with the cashier. Based on a complaint from the cashier, police took the three into custody.

However, it is now alleged that the trio were kept in illegal detention for three days and subjected to harassment. According to the complaint, unable to bear the alleged torture, Rakesh contacted Karthik over the phone and informed him about the situation.

The complainant claims that police officials, including staff members, a PSI and the Inspector, demanded ₹10 lakh to avoid filing the case. It is further alleged that in some instances, ₹30,000 was collected from individuals before they were released.
